LETTER 28
Dear Danyel Ezekiel, Daniqua Grace, Danae, Danita, Daniel, Danni, Danyelle Elizabeth, Danielle Tekeela, Duran, and Kywaizia:
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I pray and trust that each of you is doing well in God through Jesus Christ. Since all of you have sinned against God, confess your sins to God based upon what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross and by His grace and with His help repent of all your sins, for the Bible says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
My loving Thanksgiving remembrance of you are the many libraries that played a major role in our lives: The Robert W. Woodruff Library, which is the main library for four major HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). This was the main library that I used way before I met Meriqua Whyte. This is the area where I spent most of my time preaching and witnessing to people on all four campuses: Morehouse College, Spelman College, Clark College, and Morris Brown College. This is the Library where I first read about Martin Luther King Jr. and Billy Graham and the Library where I started getting ideas about the books Letters to Young Black Men and Letters to Young Black Women. This Library is near where I was preaching in a building on Morehouse College campus, and I was preaching so hard, and because it was hot, I passed out and fell backward and hit my head on an object that was on the floor behind me. The hospital tested me for a brain tumor, and while I was in the Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, my Dad and Mom drove from Florida to see me. As you all know, while writing the book Letters to Young Black Men, I actually wrote the book from several historically black colleges such as Tuskegee University, Florida A&M, North Carolina A&T, Morehouse, and others. Other libraries that played a major role in our lives, even before you were born, and some after Danni and Daniel were born, but they were babies, are Yale University Law School Library, the Hartford Connecticut Public Library, and the (Barnes and Noble bookstore in Hartford, Connecticut, which is not a library, but as you know the Barnes and Noble bookstore, Books-a-Million bookstore and the Borders bookstore when they all were in existence played a major role in our lives as well). Other libraries include the Decatur City Public Library in Georgia. It was here that I first picked up a book on Christian writing. The first Library that Danni went to was the beautiful “airy” public library in Madison, Georgia. Once, she went with me to the University of Georgia library in Athens, Georgia, where she was born, and where I did some writing. The next main library was the Macon Public Library in Macon, Georgia. The next main library where most of you went was the Columbus Public Library in Georgia. The library where I rewrote most of the Letters to Young Black Men was the Columbus University Library. This is the library where when I came back home one day, after I told your mother to feed you all, and you all told me she did not feed you. Danni, Daniel, and Danita should be old enough to remember that day. After that, while we were in transition from Georgia to Texas, we spent some time in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. (This is where God worked a miracle and fed us manna from Heaven because we did not have any money, and Pizza Hut gave us free pizzas, and other places gave us free food as well). I wanted you all to continue to be homeschooled, so we visited the Fort Walton Beach public library quite a bit until we went from there to Dallas, Texas. Probably the two most pivotal libraries that propelled us to great works in writing after Danyelle was born were the Dallas Public Library, where Danita was always very concerned for the homeless people and always wanted me to give them some money when, in reality, I was praying for money for us to eat, and then, especially the Irving Public Library. Then, after that would be the Cleburne Public Library. All of these libraries contributed to all of our great writing production, but it was these last three that I mentioned where we really got on the launching pad and lifted off for the glory of God as a family.
My Thanksgiving devotional “Text” is Matthew 6:6: “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”
Children, the biggest key to your peace, joy, and happiness in life is to pray without ceasing.
Danyel Ezekiel, Daniqua Grace, Danae, Danita, Daniel, Danni, Danyelle Elizabeth, Danielle Tekeela, Duran, and Kywaizia, I love you all very much, and I am praying for you. Please pray for me. Do not break God’s heart with sin. Terminate all relationships that are taking you away from God. You know who you are, and you know who they are. By the way, they may be in the family, in the church, or on the job. Do not let people trap you into unhealthy relationships because you have a need to feel loved because you never received motherly love from Meriqua Whyte. It is not worth it, as you all know by now. Do not let anybody put pressure on you, especially woke homosexuals and woke lesbians. Somebody rise and tell the truth.
