LETTER #46 of “LETTERS TO MY YOUNG ADULT CHILDREN AND TO A WOKE, DECEIVED AND UNLOVED GENERATION” (Letter 46) by Daniel Whyte III, Author of the National Bestselling Books: “Letters to Young Black Men” and “Letters to Young Black Women” First written over 30 years ago.
LETTER 46
Dear Daniel, Danni, Danyelle Elizabeth, Danyel Ezekiel, Daniqua Grace, Danae, Danita, Danielle Tekeela, Duran, and Kywaizia:
Happy Thanksgiving in January — the 3rd Thursday in January. As you know, by the grace of God and if the Lord tarries His coming and we live, we are going to celebrate Thanksgiving each month on the 3rd Thursday of the month through December.
I Thessalonians 5:18: “IN EVERY THING GIVE THANKS: FOR THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS CONCERNING YOU.”
Here is a book by my daughter Daniella (Danni) Whyte that I encourage you to read throughout the year as it will keep you in the spirit of Thanksgiving all year long.
A Challenge to Be Thankful
Every day, think of one thing to thank God for, read a quote on being thankful, and read a verse from the Bible on thankfulness. Do this for 365 days straight. The Bible tells us to give thanks always; not just when we feel like it or when everything is going well. King David commanded the children of Israel in 1 Chronicles 23:30 to “stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and likewise at even.” This is a great way to start and end your day. By choosing to be thankful for at least one thing a day, you will begin to cultivate a heart of thanksgiving every day.
DAY 1
I am thankful for salvation through Jesus Christ.
“We have received too much from God to allow ourselves opportunities for unbelief. We have received too many gifts and privileges to allow a grumbling, murmuring heart to disqualify us of our destiny. In contrast, the thankful heart sees the best part of every situation. It sees problems and weaknesses as opportunities, struggles as refining tools, and sinners as saints in progress.”
–Francis Frangipane
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him and bless His name.”
–Psalm 100:4
Holy Father God, deliver us from unbelief, grumbling, and murmuring. Give us grace to replace all these things with thankfulness, contentment, and joy. We thank You for all that You have done, all that You are doing, and all that You will do in our lives. In Jesus name. Amen.
Since we are on the Gospel Light Society 40-day Daniel Fast, here is our menu for our Thanksgiving celebration:
1.
3. Mashed potatoes and gravy with vegetarian butter
4. Real cranberry sauce
If you are low on money, ask Daniel Ezekiel to get some money out of the PayPal account, put it on one of your cards that I sent you, and in case you do not have transportation, order it from HEB or Walmart online, and they can have it to you within an hour or two. Whether you have the food or not, it still ought to be a day of Thanksgiving, so happy Thanksgiving to you all! I thank God for all of the thanksgiving that God gave us together in the past, and I have fond memories of them. Glory be to God!
Daniel, Danni, Danyelle Elizabeth, Danyel Ezekiel, Daniqua Grace, Danae, Danita, Danielle Tekeela, Duran, and Kywaizia, I love you all very much, and I am praying for you all. Please pray for me.
Love God and Jesus Christ first.
Love Papa, second.
Love,
Papa
