This Giving Tuesday, let us bear in mind what God has done for us. We need to soberly reflect on God’s greatest gift to humanity while planning our donations:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

God gave all to us and His giving has eternal value.

The law of reciprocity simply explains that when someone does something for you, you feel obligated to reciprocate or do something in return for that person. If God gave us His one and only son so that we can have eternal life, we should feel obliged to give Him something that has eternal value too. In all our giving, let us always bear in mind that sharing the gift of God to others should be our top priority. We are saved to ensure that all get saved. Giving God the gift of a saved soul on Giving Tuesday will bring great joy in Heaven.

As you plan to give on Tuesday, consider pausing and reflecting on the effect of your giving toward Kingdom expansion. To what extent will your giving impact lives and bring people closer to Christ?

We don’t need to coerce or force anyone to come to Christ with our gifts, but gifting people with material things and neglecting to give them the gift of eternal life is negligence that can lead to the loss of souls.

The soul of every sinner that turns to Christ is a gift to God. It is a sweet aroma, pleasant and acceptable to Heaven: “I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in Heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent” (Luke 15:7). Let’s make the sinners, the unreached and the unengaged, our priority on this Giving Tuesday. I have seen what giving can do in soul-winning. It quells hostility and ignites love in the hearts of people.

After all, without God giving His only begotten son, we would not have been saved. It is not bribery, it is not an enticement — it is an expression of love, and love has the power to captivate the heart.

This Giving Tuesday gives believers the opportunity to evangelize everywhere they go. There are many who would not like to listen to our preaching but cannot resist our kindness. Let us be mindful that the ultimate giving is soul-giving to God. Our giving serves as a seed that produces fruits of repentance in the lives of our beneficiaries.
