Daniel Whyte III, President of Gospel Light Society International, Says The Day of the Charisma-Filled Pastor and His “Co-pastor” Wife, Who Both Are Not Holy Ghost Filled and Bible Filled, is Over in America. SAM COLLIER and His Wife TONI Are the Latest Young Pastor Couple to Bite the Dust Through Scandal and Divorce. Even though both of them are responsible for their sin and foolishness, HILLSONG CHURCH and the unwise EVANGELICAL-CHARISMATIC machine that embraced them are just as responsible by making them believe the lie that the wife is on the same level as the husband in the ministry and in the home — that “If Mama ain’t happy ain’t nobody happy”; “Happy wife happy life”; “All men pastors are hen-pecked, controlled, and dominated by their wives so join the club”; “Don’t kick against the pricks of Evangelical-Charismatic tradition, son”; “Son and daughter, your home and family life is for you to do with it what you please contrary to what the Bible says”; and telling this young pastor and co-pastor wife the lie that “if you commit adultery, if mess is going on in your marriage, just do not let your church know about it. Lie about it. Cover it up. Be phony. Don’t be transparent like God is trying to make all of His born-again-saved Christians. Be the Addams family in your house and be the Brady Bunch family at church, and you will be just like the rest of us lying, hypocritical, phony pastors and pastors’ wives” until things blow up. This has been the tradition of the Evangelical-Charismatic church in the black church and in the white church going back 60 years. The Evangelical-Charismatic church machine put it on steroids in the late ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s through their false teaching regarding Ephesians Chapter 5 and their false teaching through preaching and their books telling men the lie they ought to submit to their wives, and they need to consult with their wives as to what God would say to them through their wives, which is asinine if not demonic. Now, here we have a preacher who apparently has been getting his behind whipped by his wife. Her argument in this divorce is he committed adultery multiple times. His argument (The husband’s argument) is that it is documented that my wife has been knocking me upside my head. Whyte said he would normally encourage this couple to go see the meek, loving, and wise Dr. Tony Evans and his daughter Dr. Chrystal Evans-Hurst, but after looking at this hellacious situation and the background that led up to this, Whyte does not believe Dr. Tony Evans and Dr. Chrystal Evans-Hurst can help them. Whyte does say that if there is any way possible these two can reconcile, they had better do it because, with two young children, they are going to catch hell for doing these two beautiful children that way in God’s sight because one of the reasons God hates divorce as does Jesus Christ is because God has blessed the marriage union with two little human beings with souls and spirits, and when you mess over those children that God has blessed you with with your selfish, childish foolishness — as the old saints used to say “God does not like ugly,” and as we used to say down in the hood on the dirt roads of James City, God “Will Fix You!” Whyte tells Sam and Toni you both better think long and hard about what you’re doing before you destroy the souls of these precious little children. Whyte says in the words of his late dad, Bishop Daniel White Jr, “I KNOW I’M RIGHT ABOUT IT.”
Sam Collier, who once was lauded as being the first black lead pastor of Hillsong Atlanta before stepping down to found his own church, shared on Instagram in a since-deleted post that he is divorcing his wife; something he’s tried to do seven times but never committed to, until now.
Early Friday morning, Toni Collier shared on Instagram that she was seeking a divorce from her husband, citing “discovering and enduring repeated acts of infidelity” over the course of years, and writing that “despite seasons of hope, attempts at reconciliation, and counseling, after recently discovering more infidelity, I realized this wasn’t a sustainable or God-honoring marriage anymore.”
He later released a more measured statement, writing: “I would like to apologize for my earlier comments regarding my divorce. It did not reflect the leader I am or my sincere feelings. I was emotionally overwhelmed and angry at the highest level. These past two months have been extremely exhausting.”
The couple have two children.
In late 2021, Hillsong Atlanta launched with Sam Collier as pastor. Collier has a wild theological past, including spending years as Youth Choir Director in a church where the Senior Pastor was the openly pro-choice, openly pro-LGBT, heresy-spewing, Planned-Parenthood-endorsed Democrat Senator, Dr. Raphael Warnock, and then several years at Bishop Eddie Long’s megachurch – a prosperity gospel heretic who preaches wretched blasphemies about name-it-and-claim-it, speaking realities into existence, little god theology, and multiple sex scandals. Later he joined up with Andy Stanley for several years until he was tapped by Hillsong head honcho Brian Houston to lead the new plant, even though Collier has no seminary training and a horrific Christian pedigree.
Toni Collier, the wife of former Hillsong Atlanta Pastor Sam Collier, who served as Hillsong Church’s first black lead pastor before he stepped down early last year as the global church network faced a wave of scandals, announced Friday that she is seeking a divorce over alleged infidelity. In response, her husband accused her of abuse.
The couple issued dueling statements on Instagram just minutes apart on Friday morning, confirming their relationship is over.
“I’m in the middle of the hardest season of my life. I am heartbroken, yet still hopeful. If you could see all the ways God has been kind to me and my kids your jaw would be on the floor. After years of discovering and enduring repeated acts of infidelity, I have chosen to end my marriage with Sam,” Toni Collier announced minutes before 10 a.m. Eastern time.
“Despite seasons of hope, attempts at reconciliation, and counseling, after recently discovering more infidelity, I realized this wasn’t a sustainable or God-honoring marriage anymore. I’m at a point where I have to say ‘no more.’ I’m taking time off the stage and social media to focus on healing with my kids. I have no desire to hurt Sam but do want to vigorously protect my heart and my children,” she added before ending with, “Thanks for giving us privacy to do that, and for prayers that will undoubtedly be felt. Love y’all.”
Sam Collier and Toni Collier Relationship
Popular Atlanta pastor Sam Collier made a significant announcement on December 1st, revealing that he and his wife, Toni, are undergoing a divorce. The statement, shared on a Friday, provided limited details about the couple’s relationship, such as when they started dating, how they met, or when they got married. Despite the lack of specific information about the beginnings of their union, the news emphasized the current end of their relationship, marking a challenging and personal chapter in their lives.
The revelation of Sam and Toni Collier’s divorce underscores the complexities that public figures, especially those in pastoral roles, may face in their personal lives. As the details surrounding the separation remain undisclosed, the public’s attention shifts to the couple’s journey ahead, recognizing the importance of privacy and sensitivity during such challenging times.
