“The Wonder Years” and Great American Family actress addressed the milestone which occurred on Palm Sunday.

“Easter week for me, this year marks two years of becoming a believer. That’s when Candace Cameron Bure brought me into her church on Palm Sunday, and we saw the passion play there at Shepherd Church,” McKellar said in an interview with Fox News Digital ahead of Easter.

“It changed my life,” she added. “I don’t know what happened. Some people say the Holy Spirit came to me. All I know is that I knew I became a believer, and it was the most wonderful, transformative moment. I was flooded with this knowingness, and I have such peace from that still after two years, and I’m so grateful for it.

“Everything I always thought about there being some higher power and wanting to do the right thing, just because it’s the right thing, when no one’s watching, why that matters, and it all just came into focus. And I feel so blessed.”

On Easter Sunday, McKellar took to Instagram to share a message of hope and faith.

“Happy Easter! Feeling so blessed to be surrounded by family on this most holy day. Sending LOVE to every single person reading this (yes, YOU!). May the peace of the Lord be with you and in your hearts today and always. And enjoy those chocolate bunnies! #HeIsRisen.”

In a December 2022 episode of the “Candace Cameron Bure Podcast,” McKellar highlighted her journey and shared how her faith first developed after Bure gave her a Bible and served as a “guide” as she developed a deeper relationship with Christ.

During that episode, McKellar said she began reading the Bible, going to church and she had a new perspective of Christianity.

“Candace, I don’t want to brush over the huge, huge impact that you’ve had on my life,” McKellar said of Bure, whom she’s known since childhood and credited with helping to transform her life.

“I don’t even know how to call that friendship. It’s more than that. Because of you helping me to find my relationship with God and Jesus, it’s been like a revolution in my life. It’s been a revelation in my life.”

She added that the Bible Bure gave her has played an instrumental role in her prayer life and engaging in a personal relationship with Jesus.

“You gave me this Bible that I read all the time, and I love it so much. I go to church now, and I talk to Jesus all the time, every day,” McKellar said at the time. “It’s unbelievable. And you were like my guide. You were just an angel in my life, and you still are. And I just want to thank you for that publicly.”

Since becoming a Christian, McKellar said she’s “rooted in doing the right thing just because it’s the right thing.”

“[That’s] something I’ve always connected with, and I wish there were more people that seem to care about that. … I’ve always wanted to understand better or connect with [that] more, and then you end up needing this entire community to have that too,” she said.

McKellar added that in her past, she had a difficult time being exposed to religion because she was left with a negative view of what religion could be used for.

“[Religion] has been used to do very mean things, evil things, throughout history. Anything powerful can be used to do corrupt things from time to time. And so that was my association with it,” McKellar explained. “And I was missing out on all the amazing, beautiful stuff, like all that good stuff. … I wasn’t open-minded to it before.”
