THERE IS A DEVIL LOOSE! MY! MY! MY! TALK ABOUT “BAPTIZED BY FIRE!” Pastor Dwayne Waden of Elevated Life International Church, High Point, North Carolina, According to Police, TRIED TO DEEP-FRY a McDonald’s Cook Because His Wife, a Manager-in-Training, Said her Employees Were Disrespecting Her; The Pastor-Husband Went to McDonald’s to Solve the Problem.
Daniel Whyte III, President of Gospel Light Society International, tells wives Number 1. If you do not want your husband to come and fix the problem, do not call him because, by nature, real men are fixers. If you want him to just show up, not do anything, and not fix the problem, he is not wired to do that. Number 2. Whyte tells wives if you cannot handle your business on the job you need to stay home and do the greatest job in the world and that is to be a wife to your husband and mother to your children. Your Pastor-Husband does not have the time to deal with the problems in his job as a pastor and possibly also on his secular job and deal with your problems too on your job. Number 3. The Pastor’s wife, Mrs. Waden, should be fired for calling her husband to her job to solve a problem. More people have been killed or put in jail over the silly-minded foolishness of a woman who tells her husband something he has nothing to do with. The pastor’s wife should have called the store manager or quit the job. Number 4. Wives, if you ever tell your husband a man on the job or anywhere else is disrespecting you, harassing you, hitting on you, or anything like that you must understand that a man was born jealous because his God is a jealous God, and the Bible says “Jealousy is the rage of a man.” So your husband is coming with the quickness, and somebody can be seriously injured or killed, including the wife, if the jealous husband suspects something happened between the wife and the Dude. Woman, you almost caused a man to get involuntarily baptized in a deep-fryer because Pastor Waden was not playing.
DECEMBER 29–Latoya Gladney, a 44-year-old manager in training at a McDonald’s in North Carolina, told police that her employees were “disrespecting” her last night, so she called her husband “to assist her.”
Investigators allege that when Dwayne Waden, a 57-year-old church pastor, subsequently arrived at the restaurant in High Point, he chose not to turn the other cheek.
Cops say Waden walked into the kitchen and began punching Theodore Garlington, a McDonald’s cook, in the face. Waden also allegedly wrapped his hands around Garlington’s neck and began “pushing his head toward the deep fryer,” according to a police report.
Before Garlington, 34, could be dipped in hot oil, several employees interceded, pulling Waden (seen at right) off the victim.
Garlington suffered “a large contusion to the forehead and right eye, along with scratches on his neck.” While EMS workers responded to the scene, Garlington chose to have relatives transport him to the hospital.
After High Point Police Department officers interviewed witnesses and reviewed store security footage, Waden was arrested for assault. Bond was set at $1000 and a January 22 misdemeanor trial was scheduled for Waden.
According to his Facebook page, Waden works as a “Semi Truck Driver” and is pastor of Elevated Life International Ministries, which recently celebrated its second anniversary. Waden’s church (slogan: “Where Hope Starts, And Life Begins”) has operated from a storefront space next door to Bueno Burrito in Thomasville.
It is unclear what effect last night’s melee will have on Gladney’s managerial aspirations at McDonald’s.
