A worship pastor at Hindman First Baptist Church and the executive director of adult and family ministries at Camp Nathanael in Kentucky won $61,450 on “Wheel of Fortune” earlier this month.

“My wife and I are just huge proponents to make sure we do everything we can to make adoption more affordable for families,” he told Sajak.

Kentucky worship pastor Steven Bell hit it big on “Wheel of Fortune,” winning $61,450 and using the spotlight to champion fostering and adoption, passionately connecting it to the gospel’s message. https://t.co/wnoBxZGg8X

He said he was excited to share his heart for adoption and God’s impact on his life with audiences.

“The ability to talk about my family and our story opened up so many doors for me to give glory to God for all of his provision and blessings.”

“I was able to talk about the gospel with various people on set in off-camera conversations,” Bell told ChurchLeaders.com.

He said in one instance, he talked to an Uber driver about his story, and for the show, he was surprised when Sajak asked him about adoption and foster care.

“It was so cool to have him ask about what foster care and adoption means to our family,” Bell said.

“God has used that small, 10-second response to open up many doors to help raise awareness of how the church can and should be the hands and feet of Christ in this area,” Bell said. “Adoption is the most tangible example of the gospel we have on earth. For we, ourselves, as believers, have been adopted by God the Father, and we are now heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.”

“Wheel of Fortune” is in its 41st season. It is the final season for longtime host Sajak.
